Artistii Lil Wayne si Coldplay au adunat cele mai multe nominalizari pentru editia din acest an a Premiilor Grammy, care va avea loc pe 8 februarie 2009 la Los Angeles.

Albumul lui Lil Wayne, "Tha Carter III" a obtinut nu mai putin de 8 nominalizari, printre care si cea de la categoria "albumul anului".

La aceasta categorie, Lil Wayne va lupta cu Coldplay , britanicii obtinand 7 nominalizari.

Pentru prima data in istoria premiilor, nominalizarile au fost anuntate in cadrul unui show tv, la care au cantat Christina Aguilera , John Mayer si Mariah Carey.

Acest show a celebrat si inaugurarea muzeului Grammy, care se va deschide pentru public pe 6 decembrie.

In topul nominalizarilor pentru Grammy s-au mai aflat: Jay-Z , Ne-Yo si Kanye West , cu cate 6 nominalizari, Radiohead obtinand 5.
